Tim McOsker was elected on November 8, 2022 to represent the Los Angeles City Council District 15 (The One-Five, One District – Five Communities), which includes the communities of Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, San Pedro, Watts, and Wilmington as well as the Port of Los Angeles.

Councilmember McOsker is an attorney with over three decades of experience in government, regulatory and land development matters. A life-long resident of The One-Five, Councilmember McOsker has had a long history of serving the Harbor Area, the City of Los Angeles, and the State of California in numerous leadership roles, including as chief of staff for former Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn and as Hahn’s Chief Deputy City Attorney. Before serving in the City of Los Angeles, Tim served as City Attorney to various jurisdictions in Southern California.

Over the past four years, Councilmember McOsker served as Chief Executive Officer of AltaSea, a non-profit advancing scientific discovery and collaboration in ocean sustainability and the blue economy, augmenting job creation at the Port of Los Angeles.  As a dedicated activist committed to improving his community, Councilmember McOsker also served on the governing boards of numerous local organizations, including the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, Harbor Interfaith Services, the San Pedro Historic Waterfront Business Improvement District, the Bridge Cities Alliance, the Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers (South Bay), and the Linc Housing Corporation, which provides affordable housing solutions for Angelenos.

Councilmember McOsker is the son of Patricia and Kevin “Mac” McOsker who met and raised their six children in San Pedro.  Councilmember McOsker’s father served nearly 30 years as an LA City Firefighter and his mother was active in school and church groups serving the community.  Councilmember McOsker’s eldest brothers, Mike, and Pat, followed in their dad’s footsteps and joined up as LA City Firefighters, serving faithfully in leadership roles with the United Fire Fighters of Los Angeles City union.

Councilmember McOsker met his wife, Connie, in junior high school and their five children Nella (Nick Seltzer), Miranda (Belyna Bentlage), Garrity, Eamon, and Conlon were all born and raised in San Pedro.  Tim and Connie believe that their 20-month-old grandson, Omero, is the cutest baby ever!

Councilmember McOsker is a cum laude graduate from the University of Norte Dame where he received a bachelor’s degree in Government & International Relations and English.  He later attended the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and received a Juris Doctor.
